Reviews for Jardim
Review highlights
Based on 758 reviewsJardim is widely praised for its exceptional seafood offerings, particularly fresh tuna dishes and regional fish specialties that are considered some of the best on the island. Reviewers frequently highlight the high-quality, fresh ingredients and well-prepared meals that delight local and traditional palates. The restaurant’s cozy, clean atmosphere in the center of Povoação creates a pleasant dining experience, complemented by attentive and friendly service. Some guests appreciate thoughtful touches like complimentary starters, although a few express reservations about unsolicited items. While the location may lack scenic views of the square, the culinary focus and warm hospitality remain key strengths that consistently impress visitors.
Very clean appearance and a good place for lunch although there isn't much of a view of the square. I had a plate of Tuna Tataki prepared with the freshest tuna I have ever tasted, it was seared and with a slightly spiced taste and melted in your mouth. The dish was exceptional, if only I hadn't been driving I could have had a glass of red wine to really do the dish justice. Also there's enough tuna that if you wanted you could share between two people. We finished lunch with a local specialty of the Azores eclair which was a nice ending. p.s. I was half way through the meal before I remembered to take a picture).
The small restaurant in the center of Povoaçáo. We were off season and only customers. Staff was kind and helpful. Regional beef stole the heart of my boyfriend, my chicken was okay too. Right after we arrived we received a bread and cheese without ordering. I mean - we wanted to order appetizer anyway - it was a nice surprise to receive a starter. HOWEVER, I don’t think it’s a good practice to charge for something we never ordered (bill attached) that’s why only 4 stars ⭐ Maybe somebody from the restaurant could tell me the reason? Wouldn’t it be better to ask us if we want to order appetizer?
great food, 100% recommend. I don't understand why places with bifana have better reviews? This restaurant has local great dishes and wonderfully prepared fish. Steak tuna - 20€, sardines -19€
Delicious fish, the best on the island!! Make sure you ask for the fresh tuna with the spicy Açorean sauce !! Amazing service from Rui and the chef and his wife Rita wow !!!
